* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
A universal string of great quality suitable all types of instrument and player standard Obligato strings sound warm and full, yet have a brilliant, rich overtone spectrum and focused tone. Excellent playability and response throughout the entire dynamic range

Glad I tried obligato strings
Pros: Have used pirastro eudoxa strings for years but was having a lot of problems with tuning. A combination of new pegs and new strings and my tuning problems are resolved. So happy to be able to focus on the music without worrying about strings slipping out of tune
Cons: None

Sweet, but very short lived
Pros: Usually use Dominant A, D and G, but disappointed with sound from D string. So thought I'd try out Obligato strings. Beautiful warm sound from A and D strings...
Cons: ...and then they both unwound after not particularly heavy use (no more than five hours a week), after a couple of months playing. That can't be right, surely? An expensive lesson learnt!

Strings that make you like your violin
Pros: They give a really nice tone which gets even better after about two weeks. They hold the pitch incredibly well.. I get about three months out of a set (playing every day)
Cons: I used to get squeaking from the gold E string. The standard E string isn't a problem
