* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
A universal string of great quality suitable all types of instrument and player standard Obligato strings sound warm and full, yet have a brilliant, rich overtone spectrum and focused tone. Excellent playability and response throughout the entire dynamic range

Pros: I haven't actually fitted these strings yet but I bought some a year or two ago and they've been brilliant. Lovely tone and stayed in tune through all kinds of adverse conditions.
Cons: None

Pros: Lovely rich sound. Very forgiving-they seem to facilitate “clean” starts and finishes to bow strokes better than any other (many) strings I’ve used. Definitely worth the extra money over slightly cheaper strings,in my opinion. Good longevity in them- windings still intact when sound starts to deteriorate ( 1-2 months of very heavy daily use).
Cons: Not really a con as it’s to be expected but the first 2-4 hours of use give a very disappointing sound. However it is then very satisfying to feel tone grow and grow as you continue to play them in.

Pros: I've tried lots of strings on my modern violin, but always come back to these, as they are warm, responsive and reliable. A great alternative to gut strings.
Cons: I've previously splashed out on the gold E but it seems to whistle on my violin. Perfectly happy with the steel one in this set though, and cheaper too. Win win!

Pros: - Good resonance - Good sensitivity and response - Stable intonation - Easy to change/re-string - Rarely slips - Durable and lasts quite long
Cons: - On my previous violin this set didn't project as much as the Evah Pirazzi strings, but on the last two I've had, Obligato appear to have been the best.
Other: Either way, a very reliable set of strings on most instruments. They are my go to set for everything now for solo, orchestral and opera performances and tend to last slightly longer (without losing sound quality) than other strings.

Pros: Compared with my previous set ( Olive label ) they impress as quicker to respond, brighter and easier to play in high positions. They play in quickly and don't stretch as much making tuning easier.
Cons: The sound produced is not as rich as the gut cored strings but the difference is small.

Pros: nice sounding, more mellow than the strings that were on my (student) violin when I bought it. though being a beginner the difference is still quite subtle to me!
Cons: needed constant re-tuning in the first week, but i think that's standard for new strings?..

Pros: The sound is full and warm. I used to have gut strings that I really liked, and these are comparable. I think they make my not terribly expensive violin sound as good as it can.In fact now I'm thinking about upgrading my instrument as well.
Cons: Nothing not to like apart from the price. but then when I think how much my piano costs to tune it puts it into perspective. So long as they last a while I'm happy.
Other: I was recommended to buy these by a professional performer and I trust her judgement.
