Well worth investing in , if you like a warm tone
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: I am highly delighted with the strings , they have a warm and melodious tone, sound great on my violin.

Cons: No complaints. I had previously been disappointed after buying the set of Pirastro Tonica strings, but Obligato strings lived up to my expectation.

Other: Getting the loose strings was cheaper and a good deal, but I found extracting them from the plastic wrapping a little fiddly.

I would buy them again - my preferred brand.

Pros: Very rich and warm tone, and a fair amount of volume too.

Cons: I think these strings tend to lose their tone quicker than other similarly priced stings of the same type.

Oh bla de oh bla da obligato

Pros: Wondeful warm sound. Very hearty. I bought this to reduce the over bright ear piercing sound of a stunning Italian violin. It worked a treat

Cons: None yet

Pros: I tried these as an alternative to Evah Pirazzi’s and what a difference. They really suit my early 1900’s German violin and even the luthier who changes my strings commented that he thought it complemented the violin more. After about a week they sounded amazing. I also tried the Obligato rosin which I thought was worth the investment (even though sceptical as why this is so) it certainly was better than the gold flex.

Wonderful quality strings
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Excellent strings which produce a clean sound and allows the violin's innate qualities to shine through. It has enough power for my needs and is responsive when playing really softly.

Cons: The E string tends to whistle quite easily. It seems to need a fair bit of weight on the string for it to sound. I have changed to a wound E string on my violin, which seems to balance the other Obigato strings better than the stock string.

My favourite strings.

Pros: Obligato are perfect for my 18th century German violin. They were a recommendation by a repairer and I have now been using them for a few years. Obligato produce a beautiful sound and long lasting.

Pros: I thought these strings brought a good violin to life, while retaining a good mellow tone which is what I wanted. Have used them before always work well

Cons: None

Other: Packaging is getting cheaper lets hope that dose not happen to the strings

A change of strings
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Were easy to order and delivered quickly. Good instructions and diagram for someone who is not confident in replacing with new strings. G D E give very good, smooth sound. Mellow but with a brightness. Very pleased with them.

Cons: Not quite so happy with the A string. Not as smooth and can occasionally sound rather scratchy. Maybe it needs more playing in. The other strings have settled more quickly.
