A great value string set with warm and even tone.
Pros: The tone is warm and consistent. Changed strings from Prelude as the A string had an unpleasant resonance and the strings were a little harsh on the ear- good volume though. The Tonica set are still being worn in but I feel that they will enable me to develop in my playing. They seem to stay in tune well and are easy on the fingers.
Cons: Nothing as yet. Nothing that stands out as a negative as yet.
Other: Very good value strings.

Pure, accurate and very pleasing
Pros: When I first put these strings on I didn’t like them much - they seemed quite uninteresting and lacking in warmth. But once they’d settled in after a few days, the strings delivered a remarkably pure sound with a delightful warmth. Accuracy of tone is excellent - the sound is free from the random overtones that can make some strings difficult to get in tune. They’re also pleasantly light under the fingers. Very enjoyable to play..
Cons: None

Pirastro Tonica Strings sound great!
Pros: I like the tone of the Tonica strings, they have a good balance between bass, middle and treble, they feel good under the fingers, not stiff, but not too flexible either. The volume is strong, excellent for public performance and they are responsive to the power exerted upon them by the bow, in other words, they are responsive to the pressure and speed of the bow giving good dynamics. They last reasonably well too!
Cons: None, other than the price!
Other: The only criticism I have is when they have been on the fiddle for a few months of regular playing they lose the lower frequencies - the tone starts to sound 'thinner', so that is the time to change the strings.
