Pros: Fantastic Strings that give a warm and all round tone.
Cons: The only con with these strings is they can degrade quite quickly when subject to a lot of perspiration by the player.

Pros: Excellent synthetic strings. The "New Formula" introductory price has been going now for 10 years or so. My first violin came with Tonicas (old formula, aluminium D) on it. The new formula ones (silver D), when they appeared, sounded much better and I saw no reason to use anything else.
Cons: I found that the Tonica "silvery steel" E-string was easy to make whistle, but this is not so noticeable on my granddaughter's 1/8 and now 1/4 violins. On my full-sized violin I usually use a Lenzner Goldbrokat E-string instead; this has never whistled despite being still, and by a long way, the cheapest well-regarded E-string you can buy.
Other: I always buy the complete set. Since I replace the E-string with a Goldbrokat I tend to accumulate unused Tonica E-strings, and I get brownie points by donating them to my teacher's emergency consumables collection.

Pros: Over time I have tried Crystal, Dominant, and others, but found the Pirastro Tonica's absolutely the best set of strings by far. These string are head and shoulders above Dominants. As long as you put your strings on correctly they stay in perfect tune, settle very quickly, give a great sound, and the E string is amazing. Overall very satisfied with the set at an amazing price, and very satisfied with Stringzone for their excellent next day service, well done.
Cons: No cons they are brilliant.

Pros: Very nice when played mellow, and they sing like a quality string when played harder. A very good value set, considering the horrendous price of most stings.
Cons: Value, & a quality string.

Pros: I was extremely pleased with these Pirastro Tonica strings. They are so much more mellow than any other strings that I have used. They were easy to fit and are soft to the touch when playing. I really like the softness of the actual strings as it made playing my violin easier and the string itself does not dig into your fingers like other strings made from harder material. I would probably recommend buying the special rosin made especially for these strings, as my Hindersine rosin seems a bit too hard. A softer rosin would really load the bow and suit these strings well. I would not hesitate to recommend these strings. I wondered at the price if they would be any good - they have exceeded my expectations!!!
Cons: No cons.

Pros: Nice bright free tone and stable. An improvement on the Thomastik Dominant that they replace. A very good combination with Art rosins.
Cons: The new strings took a while to settle. Stretch was a problem for about a week.
Other: Amongst non professional players of stringed instruments it is common to find that no consideration is given to the effect of tonal results of the rosin used with the strings. I have found that sticky rosin is not the best thing to use because the stickiness reduces the capabilities of the string. The combination is important and needs experimentation.

Pros: I like these strings--They are slightly thinner under the fingers than Dominant. The "e" is certainly better. I think the tone warms up eventually whereas Dominants have it there all the time. On the violin on which I have put them, I think that individual notes sound clearer, but this may simply be that they match the instrument better
Cons: I found them strident at first, but they have settled down to a more pleasant warmth. It's a gut feeling (pardon the pun) but I do not think they will last as long as Dominants, but they have not been on long enough to tell.
Other: As a set they blend in well with other instruments using different varieties of strings

Pros: Very good quality strings for the price, sits "in the middle" under every aspect and is just right - brightness, tension and volume. They are better than Dominant for me - both for tone - open, rich and "silvery" - and tension (slighlty higher than Dominant). I'd say it probably suits lots of different instruments. For sure it suits mine (a modern Guarnieri model).
Cons: Quite long settling period (kept re-tuning for 3 days, especially the A string)
