Pros: Clear Full sound, gives my violin a much deeper tone.
Cons: Slight scratching when playing two strings loudly at the same time. (I may need a new bridge though.)
Other: Excellent price...Worth it if you're bored of Dominants, though I have only had these strings for about a month. I prefer them to Dominants which I have been using for five years. It's a refreshing change :)

Pros: I,ve been really pleased with these strings. I found the sound to be clear but warm. For the money i spent, I reckon I got excellent quality that look like they are going to last for a good length of time.
Cons: I don't have any cons!

Pros: As I write this the new strings have been on for exactly 4 weeks. Easy to set up. The Pirastro Tonica feel much softer under the fingers than the Dominants I had on prior - I no longer suffer from the finger dents as before. Would recommend to anyone who is a bit heavy handed or wants to reduce damage to their fingertips. Sound wise there is rosiness and "glass of cherry by the fireplace" quality to them, the pieces I play are definitely richer and huggier.
Cons: As I write this the new strings have been on for exactly 4 weeks. G string was a pain because it wouldn't settle for about 2/3 weeks and kept going tone/two tones flat but the rest behaved within a few days (I practice daily/every other day). Sound wise the Dominants I used had a brighter feel to them overall but lacked subtely...it's a little early to say if the Tonicas, while richer, are missing some clarity.

Pros: Strong sound with a lot of overtones, mellow but with a bit of bite when you need it and quite responsive. I've tried them on two instruments, a newish fairly expensive Chinese made and a 19th century German and these strings work well on both. Given the excellent price these are a bit or a bargain.
Cons: They seem to take quite along time to settle down for a synthetic. Both instruments needs frequent re-tuning for the for first few weeks

Pros: Nice bright tone, clear definition. Quite responsive. Seem to be excellent value for money.I usually use Eva Pirazzi or Eudoxa but they are very expensive and don't last very long. It's a case of three weeks and they are dead. These strings seem to be a very viable alternative.
Cons: Took several days to settle in.
Other: Pirastro tonica seem to be excellent value for money

Pros: I really like these strings ...excellent for the price. I use them on all my fiddles and have really been pleased with them paticularly on a fiddle that could sound a bit brash on the e and they mellow it up a treat ...nice and warm they settle in quickly and they cope well with variation in tempretures as I play a lot outside...Ive compared them to obilgato and dominants and as I say for the price why pay more...they last a few months too
Cons: Cant really think of anything

Pros: I'm more than pleased with the product...the strings are beautifully balanced across the instrument and seem to suit the demands of playing vibrant Irish music. The tonal qualities surpass those of much more expensive strings......AND I particularly like the highly competitive price!! Dónal Maguire
Cons: I cacn't complain!!
