great for practicing in a flat
Pros: Really works well to dampen sound without loosing note definition.I live in a flat so purchased this to practice without disturbing neighbours too much. This mute fits tge bill and does everythingbit sets out to do.
Cons: Quite weighty, but this is probably necessary for design to work need to make sure that it is not left on viola when not playing as potentially weight coukd snap bridge

Artino Violin practice mute
Pros: Presented well. Rubber/synthetic coating protects the violin, should the player drop it onto the instrument when attaching to the bridge. Hasn't damaged my bridge and it fits snugly without leaving marks. It isn't loose when it's seated. Price is reasonable for what you get.
Cons: Difficult to extract from the box. Doesn't mute as much as I had hoped. Husband says he can still hear me clearly when he's upstairs, and I'm downstairs playing with the mute attached. Doesn't fit my bridge on the outer edges beyond the G and E string. This could just be because my bridge is shaped. Obviously makes the violin heavier, but you'd expect that anyway, wouldn't you?
Other: If you want a good mute, go by weight. The heavier, the more it will mute!

Pros: Mutes the sound very well indeed.
Cons: It's very big and as a beginner I still need to see where I'm bowing, this mute blocks my veiw.
Other: It's well made item though, good material and very solid.

Pros: Look's good
Cons: This mute was unable to cover the bridge on my viola completely which meant that, while it changed considerably, the sound still carried quite far. I bought this product specifically for hotel room practice but it turned out to be insufficient.
