I like it. Its doing what I wanted it to nicely

Pros: Even volume reduction across all four strings. Reasonable reduction, no risk of neighbours complaining.

Cons: Sits quite high on the bridge, a little difficult to look past to your bowing spot

Great mute.

Pros: Really effective mute, means I can play when my night shift working NHS nurse neighbour is in bed. Good and solid.

Cons: None

Other: Efficient service from the String Zone as usual.

Does what it is designed for.

Pros: Reduces volume with out loosing to much tone.

Cons: None

Other: This mute sits on top of the bridge and only fits the D and A strings. Place the mute carefully on bridge as it is heavy.

Quease-inducing but effective.

Pros: Effective volume reduction for practice purposes. Thoughtful design with the metal encased in rubber to help prevent damage to the instrument.

Cons: The mute seems to promote upper partials - much more than the plain rubber practice mutes - meaning it is quite unpleasant to use for an extended period of time. This may explain why the sound also seems to carry more than it does with the all-rubber versions.

Other: FIt for purpose but I prefer the cheaper all-rubber versions which are also lighter to carry around!

Very good, but the size bothers.

Pros: Really good muting. Sound is really diminished, but keeps good quality.

Cons: Can't really adjust the size for the bridge. Screws dont do anything.

Great at muting, somewhat blocks view of bow.

Pros: Muting quality is excellent. Really drives volume to acceptable levels, particularly useful if your first violin is very bright in tone and is shrill.

Cons: Slots are not very wide so does not sit down well on the bridge, meaning that it is difficult to see where your bow is drawing across the strings. But one does get used to it.
