good quality string, although one did snap easily
Pros: This string was recommended by my Daughters tutor as her E string kept ""squeeking" as I would say. After putting this string on everything was fine!! Would certainly recommend this string.
Cons: The only thing the very first string we bought snapped when we put it on so had to send for a second one.
Other: What a very quick service. Ordered on-line one night and got it through the post 2 days later which is pretty good when we live in the Highlands!!

Pros: The string settled in extremely quickly, unlike the olive label and dominant that I have bought for years. It is softer to play than the other makes that I normally use and noticeably less harsh when playing chords. The tonal quality is very good. Will buy again and recommend to others.
Cons: No cons so far.
Other: Exceptional service, very quick and efficient.

Pros: It's always my first choice for sound, response and in terms of these factors I am unaware of a superior E string. Even with bow hairs mangled from over-bowing with a loud, distorted band (I need a re-hair - soon!) there is minimal whistling, if at all. Artificial harmonics are never a problem. It is warm, rich and defined.
Cons: Compared to most E-strings I've used,it is sensitive and prone to breaking, especially if playing in adverse weather (like damp and cold even if indoors). But it's still my first choice.
Other: I've not tried many other specialist E strings with this level of response, other than the Kaplan. The Kaplan was less prone to breaking, but I didn't rate the Kaplan's sound, compared with this string. Perfectly tops a set of Evah Pirazzi (or Pirazzi Gold) G, D and A strings. Just make sure you have spares and can change strings quickly! They ARE worth it

Pros: I bought this string to overcome a whistling E string problem on my new violin. The other strings are D'Addario Helicore, and this new Pirastro non whistling E string does exactly what it says ie doesn't whistle. The tone seems to match too, so I'm very happy with it.
Cons: No cons at all.
