By Pirastro
The market leader in professional grade orchestral strings. Intense and brilliant sound with the widest possible dynamic range. These strings are best suited to advanced student and professional players and work best on high quality instruments.
Available in three tensions, Evah Pirazzi strings have a core made from a modern synthetic multifilament fibre which contributes to a very intensive and powerful sound. Ideally suited to orchestral and solo playing.
The strings have outstanding playability and exceptional response at any of the dynamic levels, a complex sound, rich with overtones based on a brilliant core sound and enormous projection.
Expressive, with great nuances and enormous dynamic range combined with outstanding tuning stability. These strings are absolutely insensitive to variations in temperature and humidity and are also suitable for electric violins or violins equipped with piezo-pickups

Pros: Beautiful clear rich tone which is even across the strings. Powerful resonant sound with no harshness. Perfect for solo playing or as part of an orchestra. I use Evah Pirazzi on G, D and A strings but a Hill E which works beautifully on an Old English violin.
Cons: Evah Pirazzi never disappoint although would appreciate the strings being not quite so pricey.
Other: The String Zone provide an excellent service every time. Fast and efficient delivery when you need it. Have used them many times and will continue to do so. Would highly recommend them.

Pros: The strings for the first week sounded great..
Cons: After two to three weeks of playing and practice their vitality, responsiveness and resonance died dramatically. I used to use these strings a lot on previous instruments and wanted to give them another go because I'm playing a lot of solo repertoire, but for the price they need to be lasting longer than two weeks. Not sure I would use again.

Pros: It produced a good mellow sound, quite flattering for my level of playing!
Cons: Not really a con, but you need to be careful when stringing- the silver winding is easily damaged.

Pros: Good tone quality and stability. Been using it since it came out. Powerful. One of the best available on the market for solo play.
Cons: May degrade after 2 months of extensive playing. Loses the initial volume a bit after about 2 weeks.

Pros: Good string for solo players, great tone. If your violin is not great it will help sound it more interesting. Been using a set for more than 15 years One of the best synthetic strings out there.
Cons: The first usually that goes out of tune of the whole set. Not necessary a cons because it is obviously the thinnest string of the set. The play in time can take up to 3 days depends on how many hours a day you do and still then you need constant adjustment of the tuning.

Pros: This string best suits my instrument and playing needs. One cannot recommend a string for another person's instrument or needs.
Cons: The aluminium winding doesn't last long under my sweaty fingers, always starting to unravel in the same place (where the 3rd finger lands in shifting to 3rd position) -- but that's true of all aluminium-covered A strings I've tried..
Other: I think it's rather pointless reviewing a violin string because the right string for one instrument does not suit another. This is especially true when one has usually bought the string to keep in reserve and hasn't even fitted it -- although this replacement is the same as the one I'm currently using..

Pros: These strings produce a bright and powerful tone.
Cons: It took a long time to settle in - it wouldn't stay in tune and didn't blend well with the older strings
Other: The winding wears out every few months, making these an expensive choice.
