An instrument case essential.....
8 out of 8 found the following review helpful

Pros: Compact, well designed "lip-stick" style tube with loose fitting cover/cap.

Cons: Perhaps a little too dry in consistency - a better fitting cap may help. This type of product is always going to be a bit fiddly to apply AND get the amount to be used spot-on the first time too – but the quality of this compound is there overall and IT WORKS!

Other: Something “Made in England” which is always nice to buy/use/support!

Works very well. Better than my DIY formula
4 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: It really works very well. The pegs turn smooth and stay put. Maybe a little bit slippery after the first application the first day, but they get settled well from that day on. I had been using the know soap+chalk formulation but I think that the Hill Peg Paste gives more control.

Cons: I think instructions or suggestions of use, would be a cheap improvement. I have colleagues who use it and I see the way different people apply to the pegs and the pegholes but I am thinking about students and people without experience.

Does what it says on the label
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: It does exactly what I'd been told it would do - makes pegs (lute, in my case) turn smoothly, stops them either sticking or sliding. Until I tried it I thought some of the claims I'd seen made for Hills peg paste were too good to be true, but it turned out they were absolutely right. Very glad I ordered it,

Cons: No cons

Hills paste cures creaking pegs

Pros: Seems to work. Immediate dramatic improvement.

Cons: Not an instant total cure for all ills - learning how much paste to apply to a peg requires time and experience.

The best

Pros: Saved my life. Lol. The D peg kept slipping and sending all the other strings out of tune. I ordered the paste and was really impressed how quickly the problem was solved.

Cons: None

Pleased with purchase

Pros: The pegs easy to manipulate when replacing strings, and seem to hold once tuned

Cons: The flimsy paper around the paste is fiddly to deal with.

Great product, packaging not user-friendly

Pros: Does the job really well

Cons: I was expecting the stick to be in a lipstick-like container, but inside the tube is a loose stick of paste wrapped in foil. Not the easiest to use!

Useful item to keep in your instrument case.

Pros: Easy to use especially if you are already restringing your instrument. Pegs are much easier to adjust now. This is a tiny tube which will last the rest of my life - a little goes a long way.

Cons: None
