Chromesteel wound on steel core
We recommend using small strings only on the larger of the two sizes shown to avoid winding the playing surface onto the tuning peg.

Pros: Probably the best cello strings on the market in my opinion. They play in very quickly, last for six months or more even when played for several hours every day, and produce a high quality sound throughout the compass and at all dynamic levels. I use them on all strings apart from G.
Cons: Nothing really - they aren't cheap but the sound is worth paying for. They come with a small foam doughnut-shaped piece which I've never worked out the function of.
Other: EP strings come with a small foam doughnut-shaped piece which I've never worked out the function of.

Top quality string, brighter than larson A
Pros: Great tone, really resonant, rings for a longer time after playing than other A strings. It is not too bright, but is definitely on the brighter end of the bright-warm scale.
Cons: Not as warm as I wanted
Other: The tone and responsiveness of this string show that it is top quality, it is one of the best sounding A strings I've used. It's not as warm as I wanted, but still sounds great.

Pros: It makes the sound the A string makes with other strings not only tolerable but pleasant, even higher up the fingerboard! Also, string-crossing is somehow smoother now. Very satisfactory.
Cons: Haven't found any cons
