Chromesteel wound on steel core
We recommend using small strings only on the larger of the two sizes shown to avoid winding the playing surface onto the tuning peg.

Pros: Not a lot to be honest!
Cons: The sound was too bright for my instrument.
Other: I bought a selection of 'A' strings, having just had a new bridge made. All apart from the Helicore were too bright. This exercise demonstrated that, no matter what reviews you've read about various strings, it's impossible to know what the sound will be to your ear when played in on your instrument. It's an expensive business, although I do know of a 'string trial service' which sorts this type of issue out. I wish more luthiers provided it.

Pros: The sound is so clear and brilliant. It is easy to play and produce a big sound. I will happily use the same string again.
Cons: I did not use the same Evah strings for other three strings, so the A string sound always stands out and not balances out well with other brands strings. Better to use for all the strings, perhaps?

Pros: The string arrived the next day. It was easy to fit and sounded good from the start on my hand made 3/4 size instrument, improving the overall tone and volume even with cheaper strings still on the rest of the cello. Well worth the money,I'm very pleased with it.
Cons: nothing
