Pros: A tremendously brilliant sound. As with the 'D' and 'G' strings, projection is excellent, without compromising the tone. The strings all have great brilliance, combined with evenness throughout the positions, and across the bridge. As with the 'D' and 'G', both the thicknesses and tensions of the strings are even, and make playing a pleasure, with intonation being almost 'built-in'.
Cons: The inner packets are very tough, so difficult to open. Care should be taken to avoid buckling the string before removing it from its packaging.
Other: I prefer a set of strings to be matching, because this is the best way be sure whether all of the strings are perfectly balanced, unless, of course one knows that the instrument is at fault. However, I admit to not using a Warchal 'E' string. The 'E' string I favour is designed to be used with any type or combination of strings, and in doing so, it distributes the pressure of the strings evenly across the bridge. There are many good strings on the market today, rivalling those of Thomastik and Dominant, and I have tried most of them. However, having given these Warchal strings a fair trial since first playing on them for a month, I am convinced that I will continue to purchase this label for the foreseeable future. They are very well-priced.
