Pros: I love Amber strings. To me they sound lovely and I enjoy using them a great deal. This is not the first I have had ; it is just as good (not surprisingly!) as its predecessors, combining warmth of sound with good projection. I think it outperforms more prestigious and more expensive strings. Anyone who is thinking of trying one should certainly give it a go!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: I now have a full set of Amber strings. I find all strings to be a compromise. I also find these to be the best compromise after trying many strings. On my violin they are warm and full of 'texture' - beautiful! Also Warchal A string doesn't come unwound at the nut as in all other makes I have tried.
Cons: Maybe not quite enough projection for solo playing, in which case I may use the Karneol strings or the brilliant vintage. (This may be the compromise).
Other: Usual excellent service from Stringzone.

Pros: Good sound. Warm, but clear. Have the whole set on my violin.
Cons: Not suitable for all instruments.
Other: The twisted E string works well. Don't be put off by its appearance.
