Pros: This inexpensive mute is easy to use; it can stay on the bass loosely attached to the strings between bridge and tailpiece and so it is very easy and quick to slide up and clip in place.
Cons: The sound is not perhaps quite as reduced as a traditional heavy wooden mute, though many string players seem to use it.

Pros: It works; it was very reasonably priced and delivery was swift.
Cons: Although the mute is called "Tourte pattern" it isn't actually a Tourte mute - but hey what does it matter if the word 'Tourte' is missing?!!

Pros: Simple to use, terrific postage free price, good enough for orchestral playing and also good enough for muted playing in the evening.
Cons: I'd prefer to not use mail order wanting to support local music shops, but nobody could supply this.
Other: I was pleased with the service.
