Pretty good but not on every surface
5 out of 5 found the following review helpful

Pros: Very helpful when it works - worked well on parquet floor (ex-home) and heavy-duty carpet (school). Much better than the little black cover, which just slips. Funky - attractive to the child who uses it. Small & portable. Easy to use - not fiddly - child friendly.

Cons: Less successful on tiled floor (new home). Tried Blu-tack which helped a bit but not for long. On tiled floor, works better in conjunction with rubber end pin cover (to our surprise as we had thought it would need the sharp end of the spike to stick in between the bumps).

Other: Now trying a different solution - but will keep this one because it does work well on some surfaces.

Looks funky but slips :(

Pros: My students liked the bobbly design. It's portable.

Cons: It slips so not very useful for its purpose!

Other: I bought this because there is no chair at a particular student's house for me to sit on, so I perch on the coffee table, which means I can't use my wooden spike holder as it's designed to hook on chair legs. I've found the Stoppin to have some success but it does slip. I would always recommend a wooden one that hooks onto chair legs over something like this.

Good product

Pros: It works! I take this with me for concerts as I never know what kind of floor we'll be playing on. If it's non-carpeted then this stops the bass sliding away from me. It's so good I ordered a spare one for pupils to use to protect my laminate floor when they come to my house.

Cons: No cons.

reasonable value, but not the best of its sort

Pros: Not too expensive. Nice and small and not too noticeable

Cons: Sometimes quite irritating- the whole thing can tip and slip on a fairly thick carpet

Pros: This works for both my son's cello and my double bass. I like the way it takes the strain of the bass easily and is easy to fir the spike into- unlike trying to get the bass spike into a small hole. Good product and fits into rosin carrying pockets on a case etc very well

Cons: Nothing I didn't like
