I like it very much.

Pros: Holds bow on string really well without the scratch of other makes I've used - good tone.

Cons: Lack of box is slightly annoying, but my previous one (different make) didn't have one so I'm used to being careful.

Works as rosin should

Pros: It seems to bed in more quickly than my rather aged block of Hidersine, suggesting it is rather softer, but so far I haven't had to rosin the bow more than before, so it seems to stick to the hair well enough. I bought it to go with a new bow, so it's hard to tell whether it made any significant difference to the bow's performance, but it certainly doesn't detract from it.

Cons: It isn't in a box, but comes in wrapped in a thick cloth with a tie which works, but is a bit more fiddly to do up than a box would be.

Beautiful product

Pros: It's a quality product - only needs a couple of strokes and it's perfect. Gorgeous velvet wrapping, which fits well with old violin.

Cons: Chips quite easily. This is a darker rosin than the previous 'light' Salchow rosin.

Dark & rich
1 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: The dark cello rosin has a lovely colour, feels rich and dark. You don't need a lot.

Cons: Using a little bit more made my new strings very scratchy - was hard to get the balance right - but it may be my bow.

Good rosin, not cheap!

Pros: Had the light William Salchow rosin last time, so thought I would try the dark one this time. Its fine, but I can't say I've noticed much difference.

Cons: Its quite expensive

The quality of rosin can make a difference

Pros: Easy to use Produces good tone. In fact even improved the quality of sound when I used it with my old £30 bow

Cons: Needing to use more than my previous product but this is probably due to having a new bow Expensive

A good, dark rosin.

Pros: This is a good, dark rosin that works well for violin, especially in the colder winter months. It's sticky, but not so much that it becomes limiting. I'm using with Peter Infeld strings.

Cons: A little dusty, but but not too bad.
