Pros: - Protects loop for longer - My E strings haven't prematurely snapped since using this product - One lasts for months/years
Cons: - Fiddly to apply (excuse the pun)
Other: Even though this product is probably just an optional extra, it is useful to have and 1 has lasted since I bought them months ago and is showing no sign of deterioration

Pros: I haven't had any problems with the adjusrer snapping a string on fitting, but the Eva gold came with a warning of non-liability if this happened, so I thought it a good idea!
Cons: VERY tiny and fiddly to fit. Was I supposed to remove the adjuster completely from the violin? Needed tweezers/fine pliers and approx 20 mins. May be easier next time.
Other: More explanatory fitting leaflet would be good, please, Andrew!

Pros: My E string loop had been repeatedly breaking and this little gizmo fixed it! There are 6 inserts in the pack. Will save a fortune in Pirastro gold E strings. Was simple to fit and did a good job. No effect on sound purity.
Cons: None
Other: Great advice from String Zone re the product I needed.

String protector works
Pros: After going through 3 E strings in December, I noticed this product and decided to try it. So far so good- since using it, I havn't had any E strings break at the loop. It was easier to fit than I expected, based on some of the other comments here- maybe my DIY experience came into play. I squeezed it into position, and it fitted on a Hill adjuster, which does not need to be removed to fit the protector. Once fitted, it was hard to tell if it was in position so I enlarged a picture to confirm it was where it should be.
Cons: None- it does what it should do and doesn't affect the sound of the instrument.

Pros: Easy to put on, get 8 of them. Only been 1 day so will have to see whether it works! Have had strings snap immediately before and, so far so good!
Cons: Expensive BUT if it stops the loop ended E strings breaking, will be well worth it!
