Description

Pirastro Tonica Violin E, Silvery steel or Aluminium on steel. Aluminium on steel is equivalent to the standard Dominant Aluminium E and is easier to play by beginners and intermediates. The steel E gives a brilliant and focused sound more suited to advanced and professional players.

Using a loop end E? The use of a protector to prevent the tuner hook breaking the string is essential with loop end E strings. We cannot accept claims for strings broken by the adjuster hook. Click here to purchase this item.

Very useful neutral sounding string!
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Tonica are exceptionally good and neutral sounding strings. Lasted much, much longer than dominants before the tone started fading. These strings are what I'd start with on any violin when making decisions about whether I need a darker or brighter string for a specific instrument. They're are as neutral as it gets, and sound really great.

Cons: Nothing for the price!

Other: Best place to start period on any instrument at any level, and work out what you need from there...

A string with a good tone that settled quickly

Pros: Prompt delivery. String held its pitch after a couple of tunings so settled very well. My student noticed the difference in quality of tone straight away so would buy again.
