Years of enjoyment, then a few with black fingers!

Pros: Having used these strings in proffessional orchestras for many years (and recently discovered that they're made for amateurs!) I have no complaints about them. In the last few months, playing in a room with varying temperatures, I found that their pitch, except for the metal e-string, needed little attention.

Cons: I kept a few sets after retirement and noticed that the wrapped strings, G to A, had oxidised. This didn't effect their performance, but left black marks on my fingertips. This washed off easily.

Excellent value strings

Pros: I started using Tonica strings on my daughter's student violin several years ago and found a huge improvement in the sound. She is still using them and her teacher now recommends them to all her pupils. The sound is positive but silky smooth and the strings last well. They are excellent value for money.

Cons: None

Pirastro Tonica are the strings for me.

Pros: I like the clear sound from Pirastro Tonica strngs which seems to suit my magini copy

Cons: I just wish they would last a little longer but then that depends on how much they are used and to what extent they are used.

Other: I would definitely recommend them to other magini players
