MEDIUM TENSION, SYNTHETIC CORE.
All round, professional grade synthetic core string. Warm, round sound which closely approximates that of a covered gut string.
Recommended for violas with a playing scale of 35-38cm which covers most violas of back length 15-16.5 inches

Amazing tone.
Pros: Very rich sound. Gave a deep mellow tone on the C string. Powerful. Gave this student viola a whole new personality.
Cons: A string sounded a touch metallic, and didn’t resonate as well. But that could be due to the quality of this viola.
Other: As with all string changes, it took a week or so to settle.

A favourite with a warm and rich sound.
Pros: A favourite of mine for many years which sound great on a number of violas. As others have commented a full warm and rich sound, good tuning stability and so easy to play! I currently have them on a1900 French (strad) viola and a 1871 English (amati) viola.
Cons: None - but obviously they will not suit every viola.
Other: The String Zone is Number One for strings and accessories - for selection, price and service!

As good as gut for the amateur player.
Pros: Well balanced sound across all strings. Require only a short playing-in time. Stay in tune even through temperature/humidity changes.
Cons: Expensive
Other: First make of strings that I use as a complete set on my viola.

Pros: Strings produce a very smooth rounded tone and retain their pitch, once fully tuned, within a few days with very little subsequent adjustment.
Cons: Nothing as yet.
