Keen Amateur
A very rich and warm full sounding string
Pros: A very rich and warm full sound on my 1907 Thomas C Buttcher viola. Took a week to completely settle but stays in tune very well. Blends in beautifully with Obligato C and D strings.
Cons: Not cheap but great sound and worth it.
Other: As others have commented it is the combination of string and instrument under review.

Pros: The first string I received was faulty - it tended to whistle rather than "speak". Fortunately, The String Zone were happy to change it, and the replacement string is fine. Tone is bright, and it speaks well.
Cons: Tone can also be a bit harsh

Other: One can only laugh at being asked to review a viola string at all (given that everything depends on the instrument and context) let alone when it was purchased as a spare and won't be fitted, hopefully, for several months!
