Please see the video below for a demonstration of fitting the removable ball to a Thomastik string.

Pros: Nice, bright sound and settled very quickly. I put it on just before a tour of Spain and it held its pitch perfectly despite the heat. Lovely packaging!
Cons: Slight whistle when string crossing that I haven't experienced with other strings. String itself feels a bit thinner/ more lightweight than the old Dominant I had on before, but my fingers quickly got used to it.
Other: This was my first ever non-Dominant string and has encouraged me to explore different options in the future.

Pros: By far the most powerful E-string.
Cons: Although very powerful, this string does not eliminate the squeaking which often occurs when crossing from the A- to the E- string - which Pirastro's Universal E-string and Warchal have solved (Pirastro being the best, in my opinion). If Pirastro could make their Universal E-string as powerful as this, they would lead the market in E-strings alone! Several manufacturers have produced very powerful E-strings to date - that by Hill & Sons being particularly well known. However, this string surpasses all of them.
Other: I wish this string were able to eliminate the squeak that often occurs when crossing from the A- to the E- string, but sadly it doesn't.
Grade 8+
Instant performance. Top quality.
Pros: It performed immediately after fitting. I've played for 3 orchestra rehearsals since and its not needed tuning once!! Tone is bright yet warm. My violin is difficult to balance due to it being a Maggini copy (best in the bottom register). I've used Evahs on my other strings but will be switching to these.
Cons: Bit on the expensive side, but I think that they are probably the market leader for string brand.

Pros: Loved it from the moment I put it on-perfectly complemented my aricore strings-didn't even sound like an e string!
Cons: Ridiculously expensive! However I would pay that for really good e. Unfortunately 3 or 4 weeks in it has started to sound an "edge" - a sharpness I don't like. Will have to wait and see how the string holds out.
Other: If it maintains its tone - brilliant. If not its back to hill's e at a sixth of the price!

Pros: Crisp & clear, wonderful tone; holds pitch quickly
Cons: It's a pretty pricey string
Other: The crisp and clear beautiful tone I get from my violin using this E string is simply magical. I love it!
