Description
Tapered reamer for the fitting of all types of tuning peg including Wittner Finetune and Knilling Perfection
Specially hardened steel with three cutting edges. Essential for the precise fitting of tuning pegs. Please see the chart below for the correct taper for certain types of peg.
Specifications
- Violin/viola -Taper 1:30. For Knilling Perfection, Wittner Finetune and wooden pegs. Cutting length 135mm Dia. 5.5-10.0mm
- Cello -Taper 1:25. For Knilling Perfection, Wittner Finetune and wooden pegs. Cutting length 200mm Dia. 8.0-16.0mm

Pros: Very sharp. Cutting edges on 1 side only makes for smooth round holes with no chattering. Good quality tool.
Cons: Blade covered in thick grease which needed to be carefully cleaned off before 1st use.
Other: Cuts very quickly so don't apply very much pressure & check size frequently.

Pros: Sharp blades, good balance between reamer and handles, cuts very well.
Cons: Packaging -- it would have been nice to have a ''sheath'' for the reamer, but at this price point, absolutely no complaints!

Great reamer.
Pros: Pegs were slipping even with rosin. With the use of the reamer the holes are round again and the peg now makes full contact on both sides of the neck of the cello which it didn't before. Although it has not got reamer teeth all round it still generates a snug fit for the pegs to fit. Pegs are no longer slipping!
Cons: None
Other: Regular check the peg during the reamer so that not too much material is removed from the peg holes.
