E strings feature removable ball for loop option.
The novelty of these strings is their unique combination of moderate string tension and great volume. The result is an exceptional subtlety and clarity in the sound. Together with fast string response and easy playability these strings are capable of offering a finely nuanced sound.

The ultimately versatile string
Pros: I play in a String Quartet and a Ceilidh Band (same instrument, with a pickup and PA system for the Ceilidhs). These are the first strings I've ever used which can cope with both situations perfectly. Strings that have the high quality tone and responsiveness for Quartet playing go out of tune in minutes in the hot, often humid atmosphere of 150 excited dancers in a marquee or cold draughts in an atmospheric wedding barn. Tuning when plugged into a PA system is a hassle - you can't inflict 2000 Watts of tuning noise on the audience. Also, they don't last long with the abuse they get. Strings that are stable enough to take the physical and environmental abuse of a Ceilidh sound harsh and nasty playing a String Quartet. Two instruments are a hassle when playing both styles regularly, as the feel of the instruments are different, it is a logistical hassle and expensive. String choice is a compromise, with the Ceilidh requirements coming second. I explained my problem to someone on the String Zone Help Desk, saying that over the years I had tried just about every string I could find. They suggested I gave Larsen Virtuoso a trial. [I'd never come across them before]. Thank you. Problem solved! Good tone, stable and are still going strong after several performances.
Cons: Nothing bad about them, Even the price is reasonable.

Pros: Looked the part with attractive packaging etc. came to pitch quickly and were reasonably stable in a variety of conditions.
Cons: Didn't suit my violin I found them to be soft both in feel when bowing and in sound. I soon put the Kaplan gold E string after fitting the Larsens. Within 2 weeks went back to Evah Pirazzi gold.

Pros: Liked the reviews, the strings work well as a set and the harmonics are some of the best I have had from my violin. The double stopping especially perfect fifths are spot on
Cons: Metallic sound quality
Other: Despite my remarks in the Pros section I am not 100% convinced with these strings, after three weeks they still have a metallic sound especially when playing on the open strings, they lack warmth and roundness quality. I have ordered a set of EVA Pirazzi strings and will give those a go, having previously been playing on Obligato's

Pros: I love these strings..... I have a Hidersine that came with horrid strings and these were the recommended ones in the music shop. I immediately liked them and the difference they made was huge (and I bought a better bow). I then bought a hand made violin from my local luthier and he had stringed it up with Zyex....I just didn't get on with them so changed to a set of Larsen Virtuoso, medium tension ball end for the E, wow!! it sounds amazing and on this violin they sing even more. They settle quite quickly, I find them to be really responsive and they have a beautiful tone. I will definitely buy them again. I have tried Pirastro Obligatos and Evah's and these are still my favourite.
Cons: Nothing
Other: Great service from The String Zone too :-)
