Description

E strings feature removable ball for loop option.

The novelty of these strings is their unique combination of moderate string tension and great volume. The result is an exceptional subtlety and clarity in the sound. Together with fast string response and easy playability these strings are capable of offering a finely nuanced sound.

Using a loop end E? The use of a protector to prevent the tuner hook breaking the string is essential with loop end E strings. We cannot accept claims for strings broken by the adjuster hook. Click here to purchase this item.

Professional

I recommend these,such good value.

Pros: A colleague recommended this brand and I decided to try these. The fact that they are much cheaper than some of the leading variety of strings was attractive! These strings are great, they settle well and because they’re good value I can afford to change them more often.

Cons: Nothing

Curate’s egg

Pros: Stable. Initially bright, but lovely tone developed. G & D beautiful.

Cons: E weak A felt like it was from another set, much less ringy. Five gigs I’ve ten days and it was time for a new set.

Other: It’s all subjective, and I realise my playing style could have affected the lifespan. The G &D were sublime for a couple of gigs.

A good compromise string for an old violin.

Pros: Sound way better than the ones on when the instrument was bought

Cons: None

Other: This was a purchase for another player, so I have only just heard the difference in tone

Good strings for a house fiddle

Pros: Balanced, very clean sound, low tension, easy to play, nice string for playing at home or in the studio

Cons: Too weak/quiet sounding for gigging, I did not find them to have the loud, projecting sound the manufacturer promised, my sound was lost when playing with pipes/flute/guitar etc.

Larsen Virtuoso are now my default

Pros: These strings were recommended for my Daughter's Jazz Violin playing by one of her Jazz Violin Teachers. They give great sound projection for a solo performer and have a very stable construction at a reasonable price.

Cons: No known cons after 6 months use on one of her Violins

Nice strings

Pros: Nice focused sound with a bit of grit. Not as smooth as my usual Corelli Alliance Vivace but I quite like that.

Cons: Quite loud on my instrument - not necessarily a bad thing.

Fantastic strings, fantastic projection.

Pros: Really like the tone, the security and the fairly high tension. A really nice gut feeling, and fantastic projection if you really sink in.

Cons: None

Other: The best quality and value for money, I have tried a lot of other strings and would choose Larsen virtuoso or Tziganes every time

Good tone. Allow time to settle

Pros: Powerful and pleasant warm tone with no squeaks and a good volume

Cons: Takes a while for the strings to settle. Need to keep tuning to start with so not a good idea to put a new set on just before a performance
