By Larsen
Tzigane strings have a lower tension than the regular Larsen strings to produce a more gut like response. They are designed to give an authentic sound to traditional music.
4/4 instruments only.

Pros: Rich powerful sound and a sweet brightness for good articulation.
Cons: I think the packaging for Larsen strings is a little overkill. The main problem I find is the glue they seal the string packets with. You really have to prise them open and I worry that this force could damage the sting inside.
Other: Very well balanced and versatile string set. The Tin E sounds amazingly sweet and strong on my instrument.

Pros: Lovely Rich warm tone, did not take long to settle. Love them!
Cons: Intonation slipped a lot while strings settled but that happens with most strings. Pegs on my violin could have contributed towards this.

Pros: These strings seemed quite bright with pizz.
Cons: I was advised to try these by a musical colleague as they are meant to be more 'gut like', but unfortunately they did not suit my violin and were not mellow enough. I probably should have given them a bit more time to settle but with a major event coming up decided to put my trusty Evah Pirazzi's back on.
Other: I'm sure with the right instrument these would be nice strings. The tone would probably suit folk type playing.
