A most welcome newcomer!
4 out of 5 found the following review helpful

Pros: Though a little metallic for the first few hours of playing opens up into a beautiful warm and responsive sound on my 19th century French cello. Has a wonderful effect on the upper strings too (Larsen A and D standard).

Cons: Price. Should be available to more cellists!

Pros: Fantastic string with a very deep, dark and powerful tone, and lots of character. It played in very quickly.

Cons: There was some harshness at first, but this went away very quickly as the string settled down.

BOOM
3 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: It's great to finally have a string robust enough to give me the type and volume of sound I want out of my cello - all the resonances have been enhanced

Cons: Thus far none have become apparent.....it altered character as it settled but that's fairly common

Other: The instrument is better balanced as a result, the top 2 strings seem to speak much more now

Larsen Magnacore cello string C
3 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: Bright and resonant tone which increases not only the clarity of the lower register of my cello but also that of the upper strings, in a pleasing way.

Cons: At the moment the string has to be bowed with care not to produce an edgy sound and it has a metallic 'ring' which I'm told isn't audible to the listener. I assume it will settle down after a few more hours of playing.

Too rigid and inflexible
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Bright sound, fully integrated with rest of Magnacore set

Cons: Very stiff High tension Exacerbates wolf note

Other: Have reverted to my previous C string, which is much more flexible. Possibly the new Magnacore Arioso, a lighter tension variant might work better for me.

Outstanding quality strings.

Pros: Like all tungsten strength strings there’s power. But the sound quality and sensitivity is second to none.

Cons: None

Other: I will continue to use these strings. Before changing I was using Pirastri Udoxo C&G. Haven’t looked back.

Just the job

Pros: It is so nice to find something, in this world, upon which you can depend- sounds great and is easy to play. There probably are others that just as good but we do not have the time nor the money to experiment.

Cons: Nothing, apart from the price- why are cello strings so costly?
