Entry level carbon fibre bow highly recommended as an ideal beginner bow.
A simple, reliable bow which will suit all types of beginner and players up the middle grades if required. An easy handling, robust bow each size nicely proportioned for young players. We consider these bows to have significantly better playing qualities than a wooden bow of similar price.
The I Violini bow features a fully mounted frog for a more sophisticated look, enhanced by a Parisian eye decor.
Unless stated otherwise all our bows are supplied with a starter coat of premium quality William Salchow rosin. Good, fresh rosin is essential to obtain the best performance from any bow.
Please note all bows will require re-hairing at some stage. The hair is a wearing component and its effectiveness will diminish over time for a variety of reasons including playing time, the strength of the stick, the type of playing, quality and quantity of rosin applied and the original length of the hair. We offer a mail order bow rehair service The original cost of the bow may be a consideration in deciding if it is cost effective to rehair a particular bow.

Pros: Light, well balanced and once well rosin'd, plays well
Cons: Nothing!
Other: My existing 4/4 hardwood bow seemed too heavy and difficult to balance and get the correct tone. This little carbon fibre bow is light, easy to use and I find it quick without bouncing on the strings. It suits me fine.

Pros: I bought this 1/2 size bow for my eight year old, and I am very pleased. It is quite light, but well balanced, comfortable thumb grip, and plays very well. It looks great too - dark in colour, and has beautiful pearl on the bottom of the frog. A very good buy for what it is.
Cons: none
Other: It arrived the day after I had ordered it, which was fantastic service.

Pros: I love the weightlessness of the bow - arthritis in my right shoulder has made long sessions of playing difficult with an ordinary bow.
Cons: It doesn't produce the tone of my own bow.
Other: At least it allows me to play!

Pros: Excellent value for money, I prefer this to wooden bows at a similar price we've tried before. My daughter can get a range of bow strokes and produce a nice tone at grade 5 level.
Cons: A little inflexible for more advanced playing I think.
Other: We wanted a cheap bow to tide over till my daughter grows out of her 3/4 violin after her previous one broke. This is doing the job very well.

Pros: Got myself this bow in order to reactivate my violin practice for the first time in 28 years ! Excellent value for money, good balance and flexibility (although it is my first ever composite bow, so I don't have much comparison point). Totally recommended for beginners to intermediate.
Cons: Finish could be better, but at this price point is it actually rather good.

Pros: Very light and agile. The bow produces a resonant tone. May take a few hours to get used to the weight if you are used to a wooden bow.
Cons: With double stops I've found that I have to add slightly more weight to the bow. Other than that it is a great bow.

So worth it!
Pros: During lockdown we bought a simple, cheap violin (bow & case included) for my daughter - NOT from the String Zone, I hasten to add. The results were painful. On advice from a friend, I recently purchased a bow from The String Zone - my goodness what a difference. The violin now makes a good sound, even with our amateur screeching. My neighbours are grateful.
