Pros: Very easy tone production, and high quality sound. Lots of resonance, lively and bright. I liked these so much that I immediately bought another set so as to dodge the inevitable price increase when the time comes to change them in a few years time.
Cons: Some people may consider the sound, on the A & D, to have a metallic edge. There's certainly a real zing. This doesn't bother me, doing mostly orchestral playing of thickly orchestrated works, but if you want something more intimate and delicate you might want to try just an A before committing to a set.
Other: I replaced a set of strings that, at 2.5 years, had been on far too long, I now realise. It had become difficult to get the C in particular to speak. Obviously, the improvement was immediate, and it was very pronounced. I was extremely pleased with the result.
