Pros: IT did a very effective job of reviving the varnish on my late 19th Century French factory-made violin. It appears to be gentle on the varnish, but highly effective in removing old rosin and grime.

Pros: Cleaned and restored the body of my cello very well. I'd not dared to touch it for years but this product was ideal.
Cons: Nothing.
Other: Care is needed not to use too much; amazing just how little is required.

I Believe The Hype
Pros: I bought an old Stainer Copy with lots of White coloured scratches to the thin spirit varnish on the top. After applying this Hill product, they have miraculously disappeared! Go figure... (I'm assuming some of the dirt has mixed with the polish to fill-in these gashes)? I don't know how it works, but if you have those white coloured scratches to the top plate, I can highly recommend this stuff. The final finish is a glass-like in appearance.
