Lovely string! Really stringy.

Pros: I liked how long and thin it was.

Cons: It didn't fit its self to the fiddle, which was a drag.

Pros: Fairly reliable

Cons: The e string is too bright and ‘heavy’ a sound for my violin. First position produces some good tonal colour. However, I find in higher positions, the tone is too bright.

Bulletproof Strings

Pros: Fantastic clear and ringing tone from these strings with great projection and a really fast response. I'm in a large community band and my otherwise unassuming Stentor 2 fiddle is much more assertive with these on. I am so impressed with the stability of these strings. We play indoors and outside in all weathers all year round. We also move from freezing outside to hot sweaty pubs and back again. I almost never have to tune these they are so stable. On the winter solstice we played at an outdoor swimming pool by the sea (in December), then in and out of hot shops, in and out of hot pubs, late at night outside, next to a bonfire, then back into hot pubs. I checked the tuning several times and only had to tweak the fine tuners about half a turn a couple of times in eight hours of fiddle abuse. Brilliant! They've been on my fiddle for 11 months and are still ring-y and clear. I will change them at the 1 year mark. . . . .but only because I feel like I should.

Cons: Obviously not as rich sounding as a synthetic core, but a lot better than plain steel strings. The compromise is well worth it for my style of playing because of the impressive stability, projection and longevity of these strings.

String

Pros: For my big bright German violin, this is the perfect string especially if you’re going to play lots of Mozart. The other types are too bright and stark/ strong for my tone and for my violin.

Superb strings

Pros: An excellent string, has far more 'body' to the sound (and feel) of it compared to just the plain steel ones.

Cons: None

Great string

Pros: My favourite E string, a huge improvement on the plain steel version. So much more power and depth to the notes made.

My favourite E string!

Pros: Stunning string, has much more 'body' to the sound than Dominant. And they last very well too.

Good product, good service.

Pros: I always use these strings, they tune up and stay in tune.

Cons: Wound e-string sounds rather strident - it's been a while since I bought a new one, and I don't remember this from before. Are they using different materials?

Other: Good service from stringzone.

great string

Pros: superb string, definitely gets my vote for a full bodied sound that cuts through, and yet isn't harsh. way better than the un-wound E that helicore do.

Cons: nothing
