A good work horse of a string.

Pros: String 'beds in' very quickly without the frustration of stretching over several days. Tone is stronger than many Pirasto types, particularly in high positions and very responsive.

Cons: Though pitch is stable almost from the outset, may however take a while to 'mellow' and can be decidedly edgey/trebly when first playing. String can break without any notice - the inner core!

Bulletproof Strings

Pros: Fantastic clear and ringing tone from these strings with great projection and a really fast response. I'm in a large community band and my otherwise unassuming Stentor 2 fiddle is much more assertive with these on. I am so impressed with the stability of these strings. We play indoors and outside in all weathers all year round. We also move from freezing outside to hot sweaty pubs and back again. I almost never have to tune these they are so stable. On the solstice we played at an outdoor swimming pool by the sea, then in and out of hot shops, in and out of hot pubs, late at night outside, next to a bonfire, then back into hot pubs. I checked the tuning several times and only had to tweak the fine tuners about half a turn a couple of times in eight hours of fiddle abuse. Brilliant! They've been on my fiddle for 11 months and are still ring-y and clear. I will change them at the 1 year mark. . . . .but only because I feel like I should.

Cons: They of course don't have the rich tone of a synthetic core string, but are a brilliant combo of the clarity, response and longevity of steel strings, with a slightly warmer and richer sound than just straight steel strings.

Tune-up and play!

Pros: Great strings as usual - what I like best about Helicore is you just put them on, tune them up and away you go! No constant re-tuning.

Cons: None

Pros: A very good mid-price string - good tone - lasts well - good for both electric and acoustic

Cons: I had one that broke on fixing to the instrument - could have been old

Pros: Great sound immediately and stays in tune from the start.

Cons: None. Great for my type of playing.

Other: I needed spare strings in a hurry and the string zone saved the day. Thanks.
