Lovely expressive string.
3 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: Rich, warm, and expressive, with a natural response

Cons: A bit soft, both in definition and power. Takes a while to play in.

Other: This is a review of the light tension version. My first impression was that it was very muddy. This did improve a lot after a few hours of playing, but never reached the height of clarity, although its response, although not totally crisp, feels natural and reliable; you don't have to worry about whether it is going to sound cleanly as you do with some C strings. It is not a big, show-off C string, but has a very natural, gut-like charm, and is responsive to subtleties of bowing, making it very expressive (you can play a magical pianissimo with it for instance). It does not bring out wolf tones like some higher tension strings. Like a gut C-string, its wide amplitude of motion does mean that when played very vigorously it can slap the fingerboard sometimes if the bridge is set for conventional metal strings.

Nice surprise.
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Speaks quickly with a soft attack. Not too aggressive. (Of course, this applies on my cello and every cello responds differently).

Cons: Possibly could be a hint more incisive.
