Description

The GEWA Pure is high quality lightweight case aimed at musicians of all levels and is designed for everyday use.

Featuring a single piece moulded Polycarbonate shell combining strength, thermal stability and light weight. A carbon fibre weave effect gives the case a stylish contemporary look and is available in a choice of 4 colours.

The case lid features a grooved rubber seal to prevent water ingress.

The interior is lined with black velvet bonded to the shell and the instrument is supported by a full suspension system. The neck/upper body support is moveable to ensure an excellent fit for the instrument in the case.

The interior boasts a removable accessory bag, 4 high quality GEWA brand swivel bow holders and a velcro strap for secure storage of a shoulder rest. Accommodates nearly all styles of shoulder rest including BonMusica.

Externally the case has a strong GEWA carrying handle, a subway handle and spring loaded high grade metal latches. Mounts for rucksack straps (included) and a shoulder strap are riveted to the case.

A removable padded music pocket on the back of the case adds to carrying comfort.

Please be sure to read the instructions sheet included to help you remove your music pocket safely, do not pull hard on the pocket as this will cause damage to the attachments.

Good but not great
8 out of 8 found the following review helpful

Pros: I like the design of the inside of the case. The violin fits very snugly. I also like the weight which is the main reason I bought it

Cons: The interior of the violin case is not very padded... it would have been nicer to have a softer lining. I also really don't like the fact that the lid does not open fully and securely so can tip back down on top of the violin easily. It has to be propped up to keep my violin safe when it's sitting in the case with the shoulder rest on, ready to play. This was nearly a deal breaker for me and meant that I was seriously thinking of returning it but I decided to stick with it to see if I could get used to it. I'm not sure why it was designed that way... I'm sure that any violinist would see this as a problem.

Violin Case

Pros: It is a great case made of a durable material that has the added benefit of being water resistant. The detachable music pocket is very useful and quite rare on hard cases.

Cons: Would be nice for the case to have a lock

Smart looking but scuffs and scratches show badly
4 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: Smart appearance, fairly lightweight, good internal storage, comfortable shoulder backpack straps. Reasonable price.

Cons: The external music case is not big enough to hold most printed music, so it it isn't very useful. The case material is not as robust as it appears and is easily scratched.

Light, good looking, protective and affordable!
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: The light weight. Good protection . Easy fasteners. Good seal. Cool design. Room for a bon musica shoulder rest!

Cons: The lid tends to self close - doesn't open quite far enough. More of a non-slip grip on handle would also be good.

Other: Would personally prefer a pocket with lid, rather than a removable pouch.

A great case

Pros: This case is light and feels well built. My violin feels well-protected in it. There are feet on the side and the end which annoyed me when I first saw them, but actually mean that the case can stand securely when resting on the floor. The fit for my violin is good and there is room for my three bows with one spare slot. I like the tether for my shoulder rest at the side. There is plenty of room for my spare strings and rosin in the pocket at the end. The straps are well padded and easy to adjust. I love the colour - I chose red and worried that it might be a bit in your face, but actually it's lovely.

Cons: The music pocket isn't really any use to me, since some of my orchestra music won't fit in it, so I think I will remove it. Instructions for this are provided. I find the positioning of the straps uncomfortable but perhaps I just have to get used to something different from my last case.

Solid, protective and great value
2 out of 2 found the following review helpful

Pros: For the price, this case is exceptional. The shoulder strap system is comfortable, secure, and is configured so you can sit down without having to remove it, making travel extremely easy. The bow holders are secure, and there's a little shoulder rest strap and plenty of room for accessories. The violin itself seems very well protected from knocks and temperature fluctuations. The case has a velcro system that configures precisely to your violin, and so can apparently fit both 3/4 and full size violin. It feels genuinely waterproof, although i haven't put it to the test. The silver version looks fantastic too. I took a long time deciding on a case, and am very pleased I pulled the trigger on this one.

Cons: The inner linings don't have a premium feel. The adjustable velcro holder doesn't feels a bit too easy to move, but in practice when the case is closed I think it is completely secure. No lock on the case. As there are only two latches, although they seem very secure I'm a bit paranoid, and so have a strap that I fasten around the outside middle of the case when travelling for peace of mind. It scratches reasonably easily against hard surfaces.

Excellent case and great service.
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Strong light attractive case, very well finished in dark red/ burgundy colour. Inside, it has an excellent suspension system protecting my violin. The suspension system can be adjusted easily and precisely to accurately accommodate varying sizes of violin from 3/4 to full sizes. The violin is securely held in place and there is a velcro strap to secure a shoulder rest. It comes with a blanket to cover the violin, 4 bow positions, a capacious removable accessory bag and shoulder straps. On the outside, the case is closed by 2 easy to use and functional catches, and there is a "subway" handle on the end for holding the case vertically along with the corresponding 4 plastic feet on the bottom of the case. There are also feet on the side of the case for putting the violin down on its side. There is a removable document pouch presumably mainly for sheet music. Personally, I am unlikely to use this pouch so I'll be removing it. I am delighted with the case.

Cons: None

Other: The case was dispatched very quickly and delivered quickly with a tracked service. This is my first purchase from The String Zone and I have to say that I am delighted with the service, many thanks!

Very happy. Good value.

Pros: Sleek and light. Looks great too! Good value for money.

Cons: Thte detachable book bag is too small. Ended up have a carry a separate bag. It would have been perfect if it is the same size as GEWA Air's.

Quality product and good value.
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: Well finished, feels robust and looks smart. The cushions for the violin are easily adapted to have a close fit on different 4/4 shapes.

Cons: The attached music sleeve might not survive casual handling. (Others have removed it anyway.)

Other: This was a present and very well received.
