Chromesteel wound on steel
We recommend using small strings only on the larger of the two sizes shown to avoid winding the playing surface onto the tuning peg.

Pros: This was a replacement so knew what to expect
Cons: There is not a lot to dislike
Other: Ended up using a Larsen, because tried both and decided Larsen sounded marginally better near the bridge.Already have Larsen soloist A. Decided the Larsens went better together on my early C19th cello

Pros: Really rich sounding string, overall it is on the brighter end of the scale, but still provides plenty of warmth. Really resonant, rings for ages.
Cons: None
Other: Probably not as warm as a larson D, but has really rich overtones which I don't think many strings match.
