* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
The original and best known synthetic cored string. Regarded as the reference standard for this type of string. Well adapted to give excellent playing properties on any instrument.
Dominant strings give a warm and clear sound which closely approximates to a traditional covered gut string. Tonally stable and easy to play on they suitable for all players beginner to professional.
Medium tension strings. For other tensions please click the link above.
NB The set 135 with aluminium wound E is the traditional and well known version of these strings. The aluminium winding being a more suitable choice for learners as it is easier to produce a clear sound without whistles or overtones. The set 135B features a plain Chrome plated steel E which will appeal to advanced players for its clarity and projection.
Aluminium E Set with ball end only. For loop end E set please order four individual strings.
Steel E set (135B) E has a loop end with removable ball to take out if required.
To check your instrument size measure the length of the back (LOB) excluding the 'button' which is the thumb shaped extension at the top where the neck is anchored. Old instruments can vary, if more than 1/2" over choose the next size up.

Great quality strings, fair price!
Pros: I love, love, LOVE these strings! Fairly priced and the quality is worth it! Perfect for all playing types. If you need anymore persuading - Sarah Chang uses them on occasions, they used to be her favourite strings!
Cons: They can get worn out quite quickly which means having to keep purchasing them every few months!

Great set of strings for a beginniner
Pros: I bought these for my daughter who is a beginner on the violin. It has made a difference to the quality of the sound she is able to produce. THe strings are thicker and less tinny than the strings she had previously on her hired violin. Much more satisfying for her to play.

Still my favourite set of strings
Pros: I like the way the Dominants sound on my violin: Rather mellow and with plenty of harmonics. After a week in use the tuning is very stable. Swift delivery to Denmark.
Cons: They take almost a week to settle in - They keep falling a bit each day.
Other: I keep looking out for a bargain price for this rather expensive set of strings. Watch out when comparing prices: This is the set with an Aluminium wound E-string. Other sets are sold with a plain steel E at a lower price.

Great to make a cheap violin sound a lot better!
Pros: I have very cheap skylark violin and I've just upgraded the strings (to Dominant) and bow (Brazilwood and ebony violin bow by Franz Sandner), hoping that it might improve the scratchy sound. Am pleased to say that it has made a massive difference and I can recommend this as a great way to improve your sound - only wish I'd done it ages ago!
