Description

We welcome the new year and with it, a new era.

50 years after the debut of the most popular 'Dominant' string, Thomastik-Infeld presents its latest offering: DOMINANT PRO.

This set is the collaborative result of daily consultations with top-class, international musicians who have often requested the development of an additional, similar set but with expanded possibilities of the existing DOMINANT strings. The set is darker but more focused than the pre-existing DOMINANT strings, with greater resistance to bow pressure & a larger dynamic range.

Available in medium tension, the Pro strings are exceptionally powerful with a 'bell-like' tonal character. Suitable for soloists, chamber musicians and orchestra players.

Tin, nickel on carbon steel (DP01) - The standard 'E' string is a tin-plated, carbon steel core string. A protective layer of nickel is placed between the outer coating of tin and the steel core in order to increase the corrosion resistance compared with conventional tin-plated strings. Features a removable ball-end.

Please note that the nickel coated string mentioned above (DP01) is supplied with the complete set.

The 'plain' string is an alternative, designed for warmth but possible with a shorter life span.

Bell like response.

Pros: Strong bell like sound which worked well with the the Dominant Pro G D and A.

Cons: Gold covering wore off fast. Took some time to play in.
