We are the UK's premier supplier of Coda bows. The entry bow in the Diamond series offers advancing players a performance bow at a realistic price.
The Diamond NX is our best selling bow at this price point. It combines quality, playability and affordability to produce a bow suitable for student and amateur players at all levels.
The NX Diamond features a firmer stick than SX and GX which makes it easier to control for learners whilst ensuring a positive feel and producing an even, sweet tone. The balance point is biased toward the head which aids control when playing with the lower half of the bow.
The bow has a neutral, even feel for good control along the entire length of the stick. This helps students develop their technique on a bow without idiosyncrasies.
These bows can be rehaired in the traditional manner and as such should give no problems for a qualified bow repairer, thereby ensuring a lifetime of service equal to any traditional wooden bow.

Pros: As an upgrade from the cheap bow which came with my violin outfit it's a massive contrast. Lighter and with much better balance and agility both on and off the string, it almost immediately led to me producing a much better sound with far better bow control and almost eliminated my issues with bow bouncing overnight. The bow was a suggestion from my teacher, who has a Coda Bow Diamond GX, and I can't say that I feel mine is lacking in comparison even given the price difference. This may be to do with my skill level, but my teacher admits that she finds the difference quite subtle. The carbon fibre weave within the bow is also absolutely gorgeous. I play outside a lot (my primary use for the violin is to play for morris dancers) and the bow's not exhibited the slightest change in feel in a variety of weather conditions - unlike the violin itself.
Cons: I can't criticise it with anything that might not be just a function of my lack of experience. The bow did take a couple of days to play in and be properly rosined, but that's to be expected with new hair on any bow.
Other: Any serious learner considering a bow upgrade should consider this bow. It's helped me improve my playing substantially, and my teacher agrees that it's probably good enough for her professional work so it may well last me as long as I play.

Pros: Delighted to have had this on approval before buying. Really like the way the bow pulls straight through the string, and tension and the balance. And, much appreciated thestringzone's discounted pricing.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: This bow is one of the best bows I ever had the chance of playing with. It's light and flexible making it very good at bouncing on the string, but at the same time it is very capable of making intence as well as soft sounds. Very happy with it.
Cons: My only concern is that the frog seems a little too loose. But so far didn't cause any problems.

Pros: It seems to produce a clearer sound than I'm used to. It also feels much more controllable than my previous bow (very old wooden one) - possibly because it is a little lighter. It seems less prone to scratchiness when used either very lightly or heavily, which gives me the confidence to push the dynamics.. It's also a rather lovely thing. Under lights it glows brown and the braided effect makes it look almost like a glossy horse whip. I know that shouldn't matter, but I'm sure the psychology of having a good looking bow helps. As a somewhat rusty amateur it's given me a definite boost and encourages me to play more.
Cons: Nothing obvious.

Pros: Produced a very nice tone, responsive and easy to use. Tried 3 bows and this one stood out; we recorded me playing all three and when asked my (guitarist) husband immediately picked the Coda - I had already decided it was my choice. Gives a lovely warmth and depth to slow airs, manoeuvrable for fast jigs and reels. Excellent service from Stingzone as usual.
Cons: Registration number being under the frog!! Had never removed the frog before so was a bit anxious but managed it easily. Don't know why they need to put it there.

Pros: I bought this after trying a number of more expensive wood and carbon fiber bows. This one is far and away the best balanced bow I have played with. It is perfectly weighted and very responsive. It looks beautiful too.
Cons: It's about 1cm longer than my other bows do fitting it in the case is a little challenging. It can be done though and the extra length is good when playing.
Other: I doubt if I'll use s wooden now again!
