Synthetic core. Medium gauge
Silver winding is recommended for warmer and more mellow sounds.
Hydrolanium winding has a projecting sound with plenty of attack when needed
Professional
Lively responsive string
Pros: A very nice string, it fits in very well with a Warchal Brilliant G string. I happen to have Pirastro A and E, and this combination is great. I certainly recommend Warchal Brilliant D, it's a very responsive, colourful string.
Cons: I had no problems with this string.

Pros: Several firms now manufacture an alternative 'D' string to the traditional silver-wound one. In many cases I have ordered the alternative version after finding that their 'D' string's tone doesn't quite balance the others on my instrument. With the Warchal silver 'D', this has not been the case - its tone is perfectly balanced.
Cons: The inner packets are very tough, so difficult to open. Care should be taken to avoid buckling the string before removing it from its packaging.
Other: These are the best strings I have purchased in years.
