Still 'just the 'ommer'
5 out of 5 found the following review helpful

Pros: Suits me - a tall male - very well.

Cons: No dislikes

Other: It was necessary to modify he rest to miss the tailpiece. 80 grit paper and a child's rolling pin did the job after a time!

Best of both worlds

Pros: Combines the benefits of both tail-piece centred and offset chinrests, thus allowing extra flexibility and freedom of movement in use. Excellent.

Cons: Boxwood version not available.

À chin rest with a difference.
4 out of 4 found the following review helpful

Pros: An ideal chin rest if you want to bring your violin into a more central position and have a better view of the finger board. Good quality and nice tone of wood. Very pleased with the product.

Cons: Nothing.

Comfortable, works well - but may need trimming
1 out of 1 found the following review helpful

Pros: It's comfortable and places my chin centrally without damping the tail piece.

Cons: I had to trim the inside of the arch with sandpaper to make it fit my fiddle without rubbing against the tailpiece. My violin does not have a high arched top, so many people will find this minor problem.

Professional

Good, but not trouble-free.
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: * Good looking * Very comfortable (once fitted)

Cons: It had to be physically altered in order to make it fit on my instrument, the mounting legs of the chin-rest was not wide enough to fit over the saddle. The area underneath the chin-rest also had to be filed out in order to clear the tail-piece.

Good position - stability with flexibility.
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: I do like this rest for Folk fiddle - it is giving me stability and a good position without locking me in. In conjunction with a low shoulder rest (VLM Diamond), I can maintain contact with the collar bone.

Cons: It doesn't suit all tailpieces/set-ups. On one fiddle it fitted without touching. On the other (with identical tailpiece), I had to modify the 'tunnel' to be able to fit the rest cleanly. Worth doing, though, if you can.

Other: Service excellent as usual.

Nice wee chin rest.

Pros: My violin no longer slides away when I play. It feels that it is in a better position and has helped my playing. It looks good and was easy enough to fit. Happy with this product.

Cons: Nothing really.
