A very useful device to increase player comfort and bow control. This simple soft foam rubber tube fits over the bow thumbpiece and is very popular with professional players. It can be moved back and forth to allow for changes in hair length and to achieve an individual fit.

Pros: Price
Cons: It broke trying to get it on. I followed the instructions but maybe this one was faulty. There were two in the pack but I didn't want to risk my bow as you have to unscrew the frog and it is very fiddly to put on. I might have another try at some point but not sure I can be bothered.

Pros: A wonderful alternative if the thumb leather on your bow isn't quite grippy enough. In my opinion it does a better job than surgical tubing and other types of rubber tubing because it lets your thumb make contact with the stick.
Cons: It should be made a little more robust as after two weeks of use, my thumbnail has actually caused a split in the grip which will get bigger and bigger rendering it eventually useless.

Pros: The grip was easy to apply. It is relatively discreet on the bow Used on 2 bows and both are far more comfortable to use Is also protecting the leather pad Has not had any noticeable (to me as a beginner) effect on the bow weight. Although it is in contact with (and slightly over) the frog it does not affect tightening and loosening the bow hair.
Cons: Nothing - does the job it has been designed for at a very reasonable cost
Other: Vastly improved thumb comfort on both a carbon fibre bow I was considering not using any more and on my regularly used pernambuco bow with the added bonus of protecting a small area of wear on the leather pad.

Pros: Useful little bow addition which cushions the thumb and allows the other fingers of the hand to relax more. Improves technique.
Cons: Can be slightly tricky to fit onto bow. The fit is quite tight but a little bit of washing-up liquid acts as a suitable lubricant to slide the thumb grip into place.
Other: As to be expected, a wonderfully efficient service from String Zone.

Pros: This is a great little tool to install on a bow with a small/cheap leather grip. It does help to stop the bow from slipping especially if your hand becomes sweatty...
Cons: It does not look as smart as a beautiful thick leather grip.... But it does the job very well and it is much cheaper.
Other: Very easy to install if you put a tiny amount of vaseline on the edge to help it slide in position.
