A Useful and Inexpensive Accessory
Pros: This inexpensive mute is easy to use; it can stay on the cello loosely attached to the strings between bridge and tailpiece and so it is very easy and quick to slide up and clip in place.
Cons: Although the sound is not reduced perhaps quite as much as with a traditional heavy wooden mute, many string players seem happy with them.

Pros: I have used this type of mute for many years and found it satisfactory for playing in an orchestra and at a price I could afford.
Cons: It is a bit cumbersome to attach at times but I knew this from previous experience. For solo playing I would advise a more expensive mute attached more securely to the bridge.
Other: Good and timely delivery

Pros: Very reasonably priced
Cons: Doesn't seem to work very well - not very heavy so doesn't affect the bridge much, might be better suited as a mute for a violin
Other: Please note the Tourte mute is a playing mute, not a practice mute. Ed.
