Gold plated chromesteel. Brilliant powerful sound. Three tensions, ball or loop end.

Best golf E string on the market in my view.
Pros: Smooth silky sound, with brightness and clarity. I don’t think you can do better than this gold e string.
Cons: They don’t last for ever. Probably about 6 months of every day playing. They don’t break but they lose their sparkle

Favourite strings.
Pros: Unlike other wire estrings, this is mellow with no sense of tinniness. Ot gives much more mellow sound with depth.
Cons: None
Other: I have been using these strings since 1973 and love them. They are resonannt and mellow. Even when old and worn ut, they still give a richness.

A long relationship
Pros: Recommended by dealer over 30 years ago, tried others along the way but always returned to this one. it is clear and full toned, doesn't whistle on my violin, keeps its pitch and is long lasting. Used with another brand of string without any problem.
Cons: None
Other: As always it also depends on the particular qualities of the individual violin.

Pros: The Oliv E tuned straight up and sounded clear and bright from the first stroke. It has not slipped in tuning at all since I put it on, and is the first string ever to have done that. I would highly recommend the Oliv strings as I think they are excellent value even for the higher price.
Cons: I have no cons!
