Pros: It enhances the power of the strings - if you need more power, this is for you!
Cons: I have a viola which has a good, immediately strong sound. I love the Eva Pirazzi strings, and so decided to treat myself to the matching rosin. However, I found that, on my instrument, it was a little too "sticky" and the tone became too brash, so I reverted back to my ordinary Pirastro rosin.

Pros: It works well with Evah Piazzi strings, plenty of grip without any harshness of tone.
Cons: It would have been good to have a stronger outer box or failing that an elastic loop to hold the cloth cover in place to save it getting damaged in a violin case.

Pros: An effective rosin for use with gut strings. No undue residue on the strings after playing.
Cons: The rosin split in half on initial application. The flimsy cardboard box.
Other: Two pieces saves money - I have two gut strung instruments. Quite a long job to anoint a new bow satisfactorily.
