Excellent playability and response throughout the entire dynamic range . Great tone and volume combined with excellent tonal stability. Extremely resistant to variations in temperature and humidity
For those players looking for a perspiration resistant A a Chromesteel winding is available. This string has a brighter sound than the standard Aluminium A

Pros: Very sweet sound and settled in immediately without any harshness. It kept its pitch well after about 4 days.
Cons: The sound is sweet but does not project well. Higher up the string the tone is not so clear.

Pros: Consistently good quaility and sound.
Cons: N/A
Other: Concerned that the fall in the value of sterling and the move to Brexit might make these strings more expensive or even unavailable in the future.

Pros: settles in quickly; reliable; gives a good, full, warm tone to my old and delicate fiddle; lasts well and keep a reasonable tone
Cons: Quite pricey but worth it
Other: Stays fairly well in tune in difficult environments with temperature changes

Pros: My violin is abou 16 years old, and the tone has taken quite a long time to develop. Being a modern instrument the tone is strong but less sweet than older instruments. I chose the Obligato string for a second time because it added richness to the strong tone. I had previously tried Eva Pirrazi strings, and decided they were more suited to a sweet old violin that needed help with volume.
Cons: I had to open up the adjuster fork because I bought a ball end, and probably should have opted for a looped end.
Other: I play my violin for my own pleasure, and am really enjoying playing as the tone mellows and the right string enhances it.

Pros: I was looking for an alternative A string and purchased the Stark Obligato A. Delivery was fast and efficient as usual. This string delivers a powerful sound but is not best suited to my violin.
Cons: I have Evah D and G and Obligato E but this string did not seem a good match for the other three..It is taking a long time to settle despite hours of daily playing and on my violin gives a rather wooly sound. I like Evah A's but unfortunately they only last me about 3 months. The search for the A continues !
