* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
Plain steel, ball or loop end. A very popular universal string with a brilliant, powerful sound. N.B. Not a goldplated string.

Pros: Great string. Rich and quite loud ( but not as loud as Evah's) they go with dominant really well.
Cons: Not very very durable and gut, so you have to frequently tune it.
Other: Melos rosin goes very well with this. I use light.

Pros: Nice tone from this string, it settled quite quickly without need for constant tuning. It has quite a mellow tone for an E string, neither whistling nor sounding tinny.
Cons: The only con is that I did not try this string sooner!!

Pros: Price was good and within my budget
Cons: Did not seem to match the other strings (dominant) slightly noticable to me but my tutor said it was very noticable

Pros: An excellent E string to compliment a G,D&A set of Larsens. Gone are any traces of 'wolf' notes or harshness from the E string and in its place a full, rich tone but still with plenty of attack. A string that is very satisfying to play and hear.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: It is the best metal 'E' violin string I have tried out so far. It achieves a reasonably warm sound and therefore is less of a contrast between the other strings. It stays in tune more than the rest, and is very competitively priced.
Cons: Nothing
Other: None
