Chinrest Key

Pros: So much safer than the darning needle I've been using for the last sixty years!

Does what it says on the tin

Pros: Essential bit of kit. Enables adjustment of your chinrest with ease - the key is just the right angle. Quite a lot heavier (speaks for its solid build, I guess) than expected so be careful not to drop it on your instrument!

Cons: None

Handy and easy to use

Pros: does what is says! Is more sturdy than I imagined - not flimsy.

Cons: none

Other: Sure you need to be careful with how you use it given it metal next to finished wood, but this tool can't solve that problem!

Get one

Pros: Really neat little tool. Very opportune purchase as the first gig I did after buying it my chinrest came off (for the first time ever in my whole life) and I was able to fix it!

Cons: I am not sure if the hole sizes vary but it doesn't seem to fit easily into all of them, without being forced

Other: It is a small tool and should be in everyone's violin case - just in case!

Should be much better than this

Pros: This is functional key, which can be fitted to a standard key ring. This type of tool is handy for conveniently adjusting and/or fitting/removing chin rests and pickup fittings. Less likely to damage your instrument than if you use a dining fork, for example

Cons: The pin, the most important part of this tool, should have been machined much better than it was. The tool end has sharp corners and will scratch your instrument if you are not careful with it. I have used similarly priced products previously, which were of a much higher quality, so I am disappointed with this outing, slightly.

good product

Pros: great product, I use it to attach my fishman pick-up for gigs, which then comes off for teaching and general playing. Up until now I used a fork with a bent prong!

Cons: nothing

Other: great service from stringzone.
