Perfection in a 'pill box'

Pros: I thought that the new Melos rosin cork pill-box was a bit large to start with but now I think it is a very sensible idea: it protects the rosin in transit; it doesn’t need a cloth around it to hold it while putting rosin on the bow hairs; holding the cork lid to rosin the bow hairs keeps my fingers free of rosin. C’est parfait!

Cons: None

Other: This rosin perfectly supplies what I want: a slighly darker tone and good grip

Rich textured sound, not too sticky

Pros: I tend to draw the sound out rather then full in the string pressure, partly to do with type of bow. Not much is needed. Some non dark rosins I tried result in superficial sound on my setup. It gives a refined texture of sound

Cons: I keep it in a padded bag to avoid breaking it

Quality rosin!

Pros: This rosin is really great; makes a lovely sound, & doesn't clog it up!

Cons: None

Other: It's a light colour, considering it's described as dark rosin, but it sounds so good, that what it looks like isn't concerning me.

The best that I have found

Pros: Excellent rosin. little or no dust, does not coat the strings, produces sweet, clear tones, very little needed on the bow hairs.

Cons: None

Other: Mixes well with the melos light to suit ambient conditons.
